Our Process and Services
After completing our questionnaire, we will carry out a site inspection, Trent McDowell, the Managing director of McDowell Homes, will meet with you to discuss your vision. Trent will assess your site, lifestyle and budget whilst establishing the level of inclusions that you wish to achieve.
There is no need to compromise on your dream. Guided by YOUR budget, YOUR land and YOUR lifestyle, we will work with you to create a custom designed solution that meets YOUR exact requirements. Whether we start with one of our pre-designed floorplans, a bespoke custom design, or a combination of both, our focus is on creating the right solution for YOU, without compromise.
McDowell Homes will provide you with an estimated construction cost, using a m2 rate, based upon recently completed projects of a similar build to your own. The usual turnaround for this service is approximately 2 business days and it is provided free of charge. If this falls within your budget, we then recommend going to full tender.
Already have your plans prepared? Whether you are at sketch stage or have a full set of working drawings, we can provide you with a fixed price proposal to build your new home. We offer the same award-winning quality and service as we would with any project and will happily go one step further by offering to assess your design, helping to add value or save cost where we can.
We will work with you on your selections and inclusions, produce a bill of quantities and source quotes specific to your project, allowing us to provide a tender that will give you confidence and certainty that your project will be completed to an exceptional standard, on time and on budget, avoiding unnecessary variations, disappointment and disputes during construction. The usual turnaround for this service is approximately 4 weeks.
McDowell Homes can help you obtain your Engineering Design Detail, Development Application (DA) Construction Certificate (CC), BASIX certificate, Bushfire Assessment, Contour Survey and GeoTechnical Report etc. We go above and beyond for our clients to ensure they always have all the necessary certificates and reports, thus streamlining the process and avoiding unnecessary delays.
Once construction begins, Trent will hold regular site meetings to show you exactly what has been happening on site and to discuss the processes required in construction of your home. During this exciting period, you can rest assured that everything on site is being taken care professionally and efficiently, without any added stress to you, and all work is being carried out to the highest standards.
The Finished Product
A practical completion walk-through of your project is carried out approximately one week prior to handover to ensure you are completely satisfied with your new home. At the final handover all warranties, instruction manuals, keys and remote controls are given to you. Now that your dream home has become a reality, all that you need to do is settle in, relax and enjoy your new space!
